About GCDN

The Gold Coast Disability Network was established in 2018 supported by the National Disability Coordination (NDCO) program, National Disability Services (NDS) Workability program and a number of key stakeholders in the region.

network of people supporting the disability sector

At first, a planning committee was formed as an extension of the highly successful Gold Coast Fresh Futures Market 2018 to create opportunity for Schools and service providers to stay connected beyond the annual event and extend the network effect all year round. But the demand for a central disability network dramatically increased with the roll-out of the NDIS and significant changes to Disability Employment Services brought about by the DES Reform. There was a strong demand from stakeholders to form a central Disability network to enhance connections across the disability sector to ultimately improve the transitions and outcomes for people (specifically students) with disability in the Gold Coast region.
